Letter from the CEO & Managing Editor
Spring 2023

bg_2.svg
Rick McVey and Brian Brennan - what a great way to open up the Spring issue of Fixed Income Insights. Long time friends and both deeply engaged in BDA over the past fifteen years, our cover story is a “fireside chat” between the head of fixed income at KeyBanc CM and the founder and chair of MarketAxess. In addition to the transcript of the discussion we also embedded the video, a first for Fixed Income Insights and one which I hope you like.
As in past issues, the Spring issue is packed with good content with consistent chapters on technology, market structure, muni and taxable markets, politics and the BDA policy agenda.
Our new “Off the Desk” section this quarter features the new Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Nashville, TN. Definitely a property the BDA is looking at for future industry events.
This magazine - in both digital and print versions - extends our presence and is an extension of the BDA’s advocacy for member firms. The BDA continues to be the only DC based trade association solely focused on the bond markets. It is this focus combined with aggressive advocacy that sets us apart with tangibly beneficial outcomes for our members. Please find more information on our 2022 successes and our 2023 focus in the BDA Advocacy section.
It is our membership that drives the BDA’s success and is reflected through the content on these pages, provided by industry leadership from Wall Street to Main Street. A big thank you to the many contributors to this issue including our many advertisers.
We value all feedback so please let us know what you think of this issue and of Fixed Income Insights generally.
Thank you for your engagement and support and helping to ensure the BDA is a strong, focused advocate for the U.S. bond markets.
Sincerely,
Mike Nicholas CEO, Bond Dealers of America
